My name is Jane and I am a person-centred and integrative counsellor, registered with National Counselling Service (NCS).
I work with adults to explore together how you relate to yourself and others, how you communicate, how you think, feel and act. I can help you recognise and understand “what is going on for you” and I use a variety of theoretical approaches to accomplish this. Together we will uncover who you are inside, so that you are more comfortable in your world.
I am non-judgemental, warm, compassionate, and honest and my priority is to keep you safe whilst you explore and experience your vulnerabilities. Together we will develop more of an understanding of you and what you are experiencing and uncover a new way to create a life that feels right for you.
I also work as part of a team, so, no waiting lists. If I am unable to see you, another colleague would be able to. We also offer couples counselling not just for crisis intervention, but to guide you both to communicate better and gain a more intimate understanding of each other.

My Journey
I understand from a professional perspective what it means to hear that inner critical voice making you feel awful about yourself, to feel that there is no hope, and that you are helpless. I also understand from a personal perspective. Throughout my life I have experienced a variety of challenges and distress, including trauma, suicide, bereavement, work stress, redundancy, health issues, relationship issues and parenting challenges. Through the process of personal counselling these experiences have strengthened but have also provided me with a greater understanding of what it is like to be the "client" and how important it is to find the right counsellor for you.
About You
I am a counsellor who will offer you honesty, compassion, and acceptance for wherever you are at this moment in your journey. I am aware from experience that real healing can feel dirty, uncomfortable, feeling the emotions you're frightened of, saying the words out loud that you're scared to say, unsure of yourself and feeling as if you are going crazy. Your journey may not be easy, but I can assure you that I will be with you every step of the way. Listening to you, being with you and helping you to uncover your ways of changing your life.
Everybody’s journey is different and my path out of the dark won’t be the same as yours. Yet, the knowledge and experience I have gathered about myself along the way will help you carve out that path for yourself.
We will meet to talk about the things that you are finding difficult, and we will uncover a way for you to build a life that feels the way you want it to feel.
